Grade Level: All (K-12)
Overview:
In some classroom, Quadrant D experiences are integrated into daily practice through short, quick activities. These instructional activities raise the level of rigor (thinking) and relevance (application) and are aligned with the Rigor/Relevance Framework.
Although the best strategies are in Quadrant D of the Rigor/Relevance Framework, a skilled teacher moves among the four quadrants seamlessly during a lesson. In order to accomplish this effectively, teachers need ideas that are easy to replicate and/or can be adapted. Here are some samples of how teachers can raise rigor and relevance during class, even when time is limited.
