Our relationship with our business and community partners has been critical to our student success at CHS. From job shadowing days to two year internships, as well as youth leadership programs have been offered to our students. Some partners provide speakers for the classroom, while others provide the knowledge of the world of work and life after high school through stipends after students successfully complete their youth leadership programs. This innovative School-to-Career program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to acquire hands-on skills and abilities within the parameters of a potential career goal. In conjunction with postsecondary partners, community members, parents and school leaders, an array of career pathways, tree maps, and career readiness maps have been developed. Teachers for the required Careers class ensure experiences are provided in each of the six career majors for every Freshman during the first semester. School of Cooperative Technical Education, NYC, Early Childhood Education is a one-year program that prepares students for entry and mid-level career positions in a broad range of social and educational agencies. Students are encouraged to apply to postsecondary institutions to further their studies in early childhood, gerontology, or human services.

The Pre-Engineering Academy is about to graduate its 4th class. Therefore, most information below is from that Academy. The Construction/Architecture Academy is now in its second year and combines mathematics with real-world application of construction techniques.
